Over 100 Chinese table tennis amateurs from across the country were involved. The match-ups were exciting for spectators as table tennis is one of China's most popular sports.

Pan Xinchun, Counselor of Chinese Embassy in S. Africa,said, "Our Chinese compatriots have enhanced friendship and mutual affection by playing together. The tournament is also a dedication to the National Day."

Many then stepped onto the football pitch, where the "National Day" Cup football tournament kicked off.

Two teams, divided according to their geographic locations in China, were named "Double Dragons" and "Ambassadors". They enjoyed their matches in the host country of the 2010 World Cup.
